Our counseling services begin with a diagnostic assessment followed by treatment planning and individual and family counseling. Our doula services include, but are not limited to, vigil planning, legacy, and meaning work so no one will be forgotten. Frances Pope, LPCC, LPC/S, LAC, LCMHC, NCC, owner and operator, is a trained End-of Life Doula through the University of Vermont’s Professional and Continuing Education training program for humans and animals and other End of Life Doual programs. She is now the End of Life Doula Programs Lead at the University of Vermont. Frances is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC/S) and a Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC) in the state of South Carolina as well as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the state of North Carolina and a Licensed Clinicial Professional Counselor (LPCC) in New Mexico. With over 20 years of clinical experience in the behavioral health care field, she has spent her career advocating for those who could not advocate for themselves, ensuring they have access to quality behavioral health care. Frances has taken this same clinical passion to those who are facing end-of-life phases and decisions to ensure her client’s die well. Frances is a graduate of Lander University and earned her Master of Education in Community Counseling from Clemson University, in South Carolina, in 2001.

A doula is a non-medical role best defined by the International End-of-Life Doula Association as "End-of-life doulas will work with a dying person, their family, friends, and caregivers in the last months of life to support them emotionally, spiritually, and physically. The end-of-life (EOL) doulas will also provide information to help the dying person and others make choices about, or understand the nature of, the dying process. " More can be found in the Scope of Practice on request.
Advanced care planning allows for your wishes and decisions to be made while you are in charge and able to openly speak for yourself. They allow your doctors and other health care providers to know your wishes while allowing your family and other loved ones to focus on their grieving while honoring your wishes.
